Campus Career
An AI-powered placement and internship assistance platform that helps students discover relevant opportunities, manage applications, and streamline hiring workflows.
Features
- AI-powered resume skill extraction and personalized job recommendations using Gemini API
- Job discovery and application management for students
- Role-based placement workflows for students, administrators, and super administrators
- Independent microservices for user management, job management, academic configuration, and analytics
- Centralized academic and placement management for streamlined hiring workflows
Problem
Students often rely on multiple platforms to discover internships and placements, manage applications, and prepare for hiring processes. Placement teams also need to manage opportunities, student information, and academic requirements across different workflows. Campus Career brings these processes together into a single platform.
Architecture
The platform follows a Docker-based microservices architecture with independently managed services for user management, job management, academic configuration, and analytics. Each service is responsible for a specific domain, allowing the system to scale and evolve independently. The frontend communicates with the backend through REST APIs, while TanStack Query manages server-state caching and data synchronization. Zustand handles global client state, and React Hook Form with Zod provides type-safe form handling and validation. Authentication uses access and refresh tokens to maintain secure user sessions.
Result
Built a centralized placement platform that brings together opportunity discovery, application management, resume analysis, AI-assisted recommendations, and placement administration. The microservices architecture provides clear separation between core domains while Docker enables consistent and independent service management.
Learning
This project deepened my understanding of microservices architecture, Docker-based deployments, service boundaries, authentication, server-state management, global state, and type-safe form validation. Integrating Gemini API also gave me practical experience incorporating AI capabilities into a larger full-stack application.
